The new Village Hall Notice Board, in memory of Leon Smallwood, was unveiled by Muriel on 22nd October 2005 in front of many friends. This event coincided with the Christmas Fair. Friends and neighbours in Littlethorpe had wanted to recognise Leon's untiring energy, hard work and generosity over many years and thought that the noticeboard would be a fitting tribute to his memory. The funding for the noticeboard was raised by public donation and events organised by the Village Hall Committee. It was made and erected by Ian Seeger-Horner and Martin Winterburn - in aliminium with a 'wood effect' finish. The previous noticeboard, which had been donated by Littlethorpe W. I. in 1992, had become unsafe and needed to be replaced. |
