in the Village Hall at 8.00pm.

1 Apologies.
None received.
2 Declaration of Interest
No declarations were received.
3 Resignation of Councillors
It was confirmed from the previous meeting that Cllr. Edmonstone (Chair) and Cllr. Shipley had resigned as Parish Councillors. The meeting proposed a vote of thanks to both Councillors for their work and contribution to Littlethorpe and that letters of thanks be sent. Harrogate Borough Council have been informed and the election office is preparing the necessary public notices.
4 Election of Chair
Cllr. Orme was elected to the position of Chair. This was proposed by Cllr. Wardle and seconded by Cllr. Jowitt
5 Election of Vice-Chair.
Cllr. Wardle was elected as Vice-Chair. This was proposed by Cllr. Orme and seconded by Cllr. Jowitt
6 Village Hall Representative.
Cllr Jowitt was elected as the Village Hall Representative. This was proposed by Cllr. Wardle and seconded by Cllr.Orme.
7 Asset Register
The Councillors were requested to sign the Asset Register but it was agreed that the Village Hall should be removed from the register and the village seat added.
8 County Councillors Report
None Received
9 District Councillors Report
None received
10 Roads and Footpaths
The Clerk was requested to contact Northallerton regarding the unavailability of the byway between the top end of Mankin Lane and Quarry Moor as crops are now growing over this path
The Clerk was requested to contact Highways to confirm when work was to start on resurfacing Pottery Lane and to what standard this work would be undertaken
11 Village Hall
It was reported that the Village Hall held a very successful Annual General Meeting which was attended by 38 village residents. Iris Alderson was elected as Chair and Christine Winterburn was elected as Vice-Chair. Part of the meeting was a meeting with the local Police representative, Gareth Jones, and this proved to be very informative.
12 Quarry Moor
Cllr. Wardle reported that a very successful official opening had taken place on the 21st April and was attended by the Mayor, who performed the opening ceremony. The hut now has disabled access and is equipped with a classroom and visual aids for use by visitors and local schools. The hut is also available for rental. The pathways have been recovered by the Royal Engineers using between 700-800 tons of limestone. The fencing has now been completed with the removal of barbed wire and kissing gates installed. Work has still to be undertaken in removing some refuse and new top soil is required. He expressed his thanks to Sylvia for all her work as the Quarry Moor representative.
13 Railway Update.
This had been discussed in some depth at the previous meeting but the Clerk was requested to write to Arup regarding the stage two report due out in June/July.
14 Parish Clerk
Some concern was expressed that the Parish Clerk had not taken his full payment for the year 2004/05 and that a sum of £600.00 was outstanding. Confirmation is to requested from the auditors as to whether this is allowable. Other matters were discussed at the previous meeting and further actions will be taken prior to the next Parish Meeting
15 Planning Applications
None received
16 Police Report
It had already been reported that PC Gareth Jones had attended the prior meeting of the Village Hall to discuss recent crime problems in Littlethorpe. The Parish Council supported the view that the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme should be supported more ardently as this was an excellent way of curbing local crime.
17 Roundabout
Liz Tite, editor of Roundabout, was attending the meeting and would be reporting on its contents. It was confirmed that both the Clerk and individual parishioners should get any copy to Liz Tite by the third Friday of each month
18 Urgent Business
None
The meeting closed at 9.15pm.
